Solo album by Coney Hatch vocalist Carl Dixon, who has also fronted fellow Canadian rockers the Guess Who and April Wine. On this album he collaborates with Robert Boebel (Frontline, Phantom V) and Mark Santer (Santers) played the drums.
Potted history of the ups and downs of Coney Hatch feature on ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’, one of the album’s more instant songs. That is one band who should have been bigger than they were. Check out the ‘Friction’ album for some classy 80s melodic hard rock.
Beobel’s heavy guitar playing suits the music well, especially on the straight ahead rockers ‘This Isn’t The End’ and ‘Drive Just Drive’.
Overall not a bad little album, however not sure how often it will get repeat plays in the future bar the odd song.
Out on 29 November via AOR Heaven this is one for fans of Coney Hatch and Carl Dixon’s solo work.
