MEAT LOAF – Couldn’t Have Said It Better

Released originally in 2003 this was the third Meat Loaf album without any Jim Steinman songs on it. Instead it includes songs written by Diane Warren and Nikki Sixx and he sings a duet with his daughter Pearl Addy on the excellent ‘Man Of Steel’. The album features many of his long standing studio and live band, including Kasim Sulton (now playing bass with Blue Oyster Cult) and Eric Troyer.

There are some great songs on here lime the title track and the awesome ‘Love You Out Loud’. The backing vocal arrangements on this are amazing. ‘Did I Say That’ is one of those overwrought songs he sings so well. The only duffer is the ill advised rap on ‘Do It!’ There is even a Bob Dylan cover, ‘Forever Young’.

One of his better albums and you can get it relatively cheaply on Amazon.
