Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds debut at number 2 this week, with veteran alt pop rockers Teenage Fanclub at number 10 with their latest album ‘Here’. Devin Townsend Project are in at no.26 with the rather good ‘Transcendence’ album and number 2 in the rock charts. This is his highest mainstream album chart placing to date.
ZZ Top’s live album makes no. 50, whilst Billy Joel’s best of re-enters the charts at 68 following his recent Wembley stadium gig. Of Mice & Men sneak in the top 100 with their new album at no. 91; number 6 in the rock charts.
In the rock charts Pain make no. 22 and Evergrey’s ‘The Storm Within’ makes no.29.
The top grossing tours to June this year see Bruce Springsteen top the list as his ‘The River’ tour continues its successful run. In fourth place are the Rolling Stones who never seem to stop touring! The band many love to hate Coldplay are fifth – they must have some fans out there. David Gilmour is seventh and likely to add further to his tally once the UK dates this month are included. Iron Maiden make eight and next year they will retain their top 10 placing as they have European dates to be announced shortly. A recent Twitter posting suggested May UK dates supported by Shinedown, although it looks like another of the ongoing ‘fan fakes’.
